With a fixed decoration budget, decide what you want the celebration to communicate before choosing a package. One clear birthday message, a focal point for a gathering or a personal gift can each be a useful goal. They do not need the same brief.
Start with your priorities and a spending boundary, then ask Lunar Moments for the actual scope and total. This helps you decide what to keep, change or leave out without relying on an assumed discount or an incomplete product amount.
Agree who makes the final choice
If several people are involved, choose one organiser to collect preferences and confirm the proposed brief. Agree the overall boundary privately without publishing individual contributions or treating somebody else's suggestion as approval to spend.
Keep your decoration boundary distinct from other celebration arrangements. A meal, venue booking or separate gift may have its own organiser and commitments. Decide what the balloon enquiry is meant to cover before comparing options.
Pass one: name the part that matters most
Complete one sentence: “The most important job of the decoration is to [mark the message/create a focal point/give a personal greeting/other purpose].” Choose a purpose rather than a quantity of balloons.
Then identify what is already arranged. A sign, table setting or existing colour theme might already do part of that job. Keep those items in the brief so you can ask what the proposed balloons would add.
Pass two: separate preferences from essentials
| Pass | Record your answer | Question before quoting |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Meaningful goal | [The message or focal moment that matters most] | What must the arrangement communicate? |
| 2. Flexible preferences | [Colours, format or details you could discuss differently] | Which choices are requests rather than essentials? |
| 3. Optional ideas | [Additions you would remove first] | What can be left out before changing the main goal? |
Do not label a requested change as cheaper until the team quotes it. Removing one component or requesting another arrangement may change the design and scope in ways you need to discuss.
Use real products as starting points
The Personalised Bubble Balloons listing describes custom names, ages and messages, with colour-theme options. It can be a starting point when the main job is a personal message.
The Birthday Moment lists 35 helium balloons, two 40-inch number balloons and coordinating ribbon. Its description states that the delivery fee is not included and is calculated separately. Ask for that charge and the final total for your location.
These products serve different briefs. This is not a cost ranking, and a product photograph does not fill in unquoted delivery, setup, personalisation or additional requests.
Prepare two alternative briefs, not one growing list
Alternative A — message first: Our priority is [personal greeting]. We are considering [exact product]. Wording: “[text]”. We can be flexible about [preferences]. We are not requesting [optional additions]. Please confirm the proposed scope and complete quote within our stated enquiry boundary, or tell us what would need to change.
Alternative B — focal point first: Our priority is [birthday number/gathering focal point]. We are considering [exact product]. The area and existing items are [details/photo]. Our essentials are [list]; flexible preferences are [list]. Optional requests to leave out first are [list]. Please confirm the full arrangement, delivery/setup and any extra charges, with the final total.
These are illustrative request templates, not quotes or a promise that either alternative fits a particular amount. Ask the team which arrangements it can actually offer.
Revisit the priority if the quote exceeds your boundary
Check what the complete quote covers before deciding. If it is beyond your boundary, return to the worksheet: which optional idea can you remove, and is the central purpose still being served? Ask about a revised brief rather than assuming the supplier will reduce its price.
Use our package comparison guide for the later scope-and-quote comparison. Send Lunar Moments your preferred brief, with the full date, location and open questions. An enquiry or quote does not confirm a booking.
